We are currently seeking people who have certain risk factors and who are interested in participating in a heart disease research study. Patients who have been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease and who also have high levels of lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] in their blood may be eligible. High levels of Lp(a) are associated with a higher risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attacks or aortic stenosis. Patients who are eligible for the research study will be dosed with study drug (active investigational or placebo) every 12 weeks given by subcutaneous injection.

Lp(a) will be measured in blood samples collected at screening to determine whether you are eligible for the study, and throughout the study to measure how the study drug is affecting the level of Lp(a) in your blood.

The study will run for up to 4.5 years and participants will be required to visit the research clinic approximately every 12 weeks. If you are eligible and choose to participate in the trial, there will be no cost to you and your reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
